"I suffered with eczema throughout my childhood yet it flared up and continually deteriorated during the last 5 years or so. I felt like I had tried everything which included paying for a allergy test that indicates a slight borderline intolerance to cows milk. However I felt quite lost with regards to dairy free meals and this is where Rachel came in.
Initially, this consisted of keeping a food diary which gave me a true insight into my food habits and forced myself to accurately reflect on my actual diet. Following this, Rachel educated me on how my diet can impact my eczema symptoms and informed me of the scientific reasoning for this- something I was unaware before. After discussing my preferences, Rachel promptly created achievable diet change recommendations and suitable meals/recipes as well as more information to further my knowledge which helped motivate myself to change my diet.
Although it was later determined that cows milk wasn’t significant in my eczema symptoms, the information and guidance provided by Rachel was still extremely valuable and something that I have since continued to practice.
Rachel was so attentive and passionate throughout the whole process and truly tailored my plan to my individual needs and preferences. Couldn’t recommended enough. Thank you again Rachel."
"About me: I was at least 14 lbs over my target weight, feeling weak and suffering from aches and pains. I was not confident in how I looked. I also suffer with severe hives for which I was looking for some help. I had a constant obsession with food, and was calorie counting but not thinking about what was nutritious for me.
2 years of covid had made me gain more weight, I was food and body conscious and not for the better!
Then I discovered Rachel!
I’ve been working with Rachel (Rachel did all the work, I just followed her advice) for the last 2 months.
The first 2 weeks were about my current diet, what I ate, when I ate and how much I ate. The second 2 weeks were more about adding in more nutritious foods that were right foods for my metabolism. The third 2 weeks was about the balance of food and lifestyle changes. For me, the last 2 weeks is the most significant.
This has been a lifestyle change.
I’ve never had specific goals as such, just an idea of how I want to look and feel.
I still have a way to go but it has changed me so much. I notice the difference in every aspect of my life.
What did it take? I listened to Rachel - an expert (not the internet and not my doctor who fobbed me off with a Weight Watchers link). Rachel changed what I ate, when I ate and in some cases how I ate.
Rachel changed my relationship with food and helped me realise I needed a lifestyle change and not just a new diet.
The results:
- I’ve lost 7Ib of fat (probably more given that I’ve put on muscle mass).
- I have more loads more energy.
- I am aches and pains free.
- My skin looks great.
- And I wake up refreshed, rather than tired.
The most rewarding result was how Rachel really concentrated on my allergy hives (these were the most visual and really irritating), I was constantly scratching and embarrassed to wear short sleeve shirts and shorts. Rachel recommend a “stool test” which was able to give us a good idea of what was going on within my digestive system which could have been contributing to my symptoms. She also recommended several blood tests from my GP to try and find out what could be causing the hives. More food recommendations were given at this time.
Through eliminating and reintroducing certain foods, along with results from the stool test, we have now eliminated food intolerance as the cause of hives and more likely to be from environmental factors. I have just done another round of blood tests at the doctors and I am sure with Rachel’s help in interpreting the results my hives will soon disappear:)
After 8 weeks I have never felt better, I’m just looking to see what Rachel can do for me over the next 12 months.
If the old me sounds like the current you, get in touch with Rachel. I wouldn’t have done it without her. Thank you Rachel for all your hard work, research and support!"
"I started working with Rachel a little while after I was diagnosed with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). I was really struggling to find ways to manage my symptoms, doctors had tried a few different medication options and unfortunately all of them were worsening my experience rather than improving - so just when I thought all hope was lost for trying to regain any semblance of control, Rachel was like a shining light in the darkness.
She helped me to create a more balanced diet in order to give my body the best chance at naturally processing its own hormones, explaining everything she was suggesting in detail so that I could understand what she was trying to do and how it would help me.
Rachel is one of the loveliest people you’ll ever meet, she is patient, empathetic and thorough. She took my dietary requirements into consideration, helping me to find suitable alternatives and supplements where needed (I’m vegetarian) and also to create a healthy mindset with food alongside the dietary changes. One of the things I had always had concerns about when it came to altering my diet was the idea that I might trigger an unhealthy relationship with how I view food; I used to have anxiety about eating in front of people, so I knew that I was vulnerable to it causing mental strain. I am so grateful to Rachel for taking this into consideration and focusing on mindset as much as the diet itself.
PMDD is a chronic hormone disorder, so it’s not going anywhere anytime soon, but thanks to Rachel my symptoms have dramatically decreased in severity and life is far more manageable. I can’t express how grateful I am for that and truly cannot recommend working with Rachel enough."
"Rachel’s been working with me for the last few months or so. I’ve had numerous dietary (stomach) issues, which over a long period of time affected my health.
After a face to face consultation she generated a plan to bring me to a more healthier level, she has proved to be very good in this profession, my health has definitely improved.
Rachel regularly contacts me to see how I’m doing, and sends me various links, which she may use or recommend, so they can be trusted.
I would not hesitate in recommending Rachel to anyone who may be suffering with nutritional problems."
